Along with several development plans, the developing countries in the Southeast Asia are neglecting the salience of intellectual property rights (IPRs). In December, the 2nd international conference on IPRs in developing countries was co-hosted with a Japanese university and JETRO Bangkok in Thailand, in which HEIP-LINK earned attention from the regional professors and experts.
Japan, Thailand and Vietnam shared the ideas, concerns and challenges in their country and pointed out that trans-boundary co-operation, public awareness enhancement, stricter punishment on counterfeit issues were necessary.
